School Construction
As approved by voters, the 2024 Bond for Douglas County School District will fund the construction of two new neighborhood elementary schools, one in the RidgeGate subdivision and one in the Sterling Ranch subdivision. Until they are officially named, they will be called Elementary School 50 and Elementary School 51, respectively. The Bond will also fund expansion of Sierra Middle School in Parker, and provide funds to expand the physical footprint of the Legacy Campus in Lone Tree. This will allow Legacy Campus, which serves high school students from everywhere in Douglas County, to expand career and technical education opportunities by adding six new career pathways including advanced manufacturing, EV/hybrid auto maintenance and repair, and construction pathways: carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
